Project: Inside-Out

In this project, I connected touch and visual appeal — two senses that always play a central role in packaging, but here stand equally in focus. My goal was to explore new design methods, particularly working with textiles. The result is a chalk bag, used for magnesium powder in climbing. The idea came not only from personal experience, but also from a metaphorical thought: while climbing, people leave visible traces on the wall that guide others, while their own grip creates new traces for others to follow. This dual dimension – past and future – became a powerful symbol for memory.

I translated this ambivalence into the design by making the chalk bag reversible: depending on which side is worn outward, a different fabric, surface, and feel emerges. The bag's form grew from a tetrahedral volume, inspired by the iconic shape of the original Tetra Pak carton. This clear, geometric structure translated well into a textile object that could be scaled and shaped. The result is a functional, wearable memory container — experienced both visually and through touch. An object that makes traces visible, leaves new ones, and carries memory in a deeply physical way.
