Hair-Pin started as a personal side project during my year in Italy, developed alongside my internship at a Fablab. The goal was simple: a hair clip for half-open hairstyles, since that's how I wear my own hair most often — and a chance to gain my first hands-on experience working in metal workshops. The design went through many prototyping stages, starting with cardboard mock-ups before moving on to Kraftplex. The final product is laser-cut from 1.5mm stainless steel and is available in different sizes and finishes — matte, brushed, and polished. Working on the project taught me a lot about steel and it was a project I truly enjoyed.
